Notwithstanding the great licence in the use of adjectives the following rules must be generally observed.

1. The adjective placed after the substantive must agree with it in 'number and case, as, քարամբք մեծամեծօք, with great stones. qoping wymybulę, such mighty

works.

2. The adjective placed before a substantive does not agree with it, excepting the monosyllable adjectives, as, &wilk & gw ծած րամիք, with great stones. այսպիսի զօրութիւնք, such mighty works. այլովք բանիւք, with other words. 'þ uppned inbqung, in the holy place.

3. When a verb or participle is before the substantive and after the adjective, the adjective agrees readily with the substantive, as, աստուածայնով զինէ զօրութեամբ, he armeth with divine force. աստուածայնով զի

նեալզօրութեամբ, armed with divine force. 4. An adjective with the article or the letter distinctive of the person, placed before a substantive, agrees with it in number and in case, but not always, as, & were lo qu տարելոխ եւ անձեռագործ խորանաւն, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands.

5. When there are many substantives before one adjective only, the adjective is in the plural, and agrees with them, as, Uw ւուղ եւ Յովնաթան սիրելիք եւ գեղեցիկք եւ Luytime, Saul and Jonathan (were) lovely and pleasant.

6. The governing preposition is joined to the case which precedes it, whether substantive or adjective, as, Junub wyb նէն, from the mount called. 'ի մարդոյ մեղա Laph Sbuque nph, from the deceitful and unjust man.

7. When the adjectives or substantives placed before are joined with the conjunction , and, the governing preposition is applied to all, as, յանեղծ եւ յանարատ եւ անթա ռամ՝ ժառանգութիւնն, to an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away . 'ի Հնազանդութիւն եւ ի Հեղումն արեանն, unto obedience and sprinkling of the

8. When the adjective or substantive placed before is simple, and many substantives or adjectives follow, the governing pre

position governs the first word, and the second and third which follow; however not always, as, 'ի չար խորհրդոց, ՛ի բանից եւ 'p qapdag, from evil thoughts, words, and works. • զայր արիւնահեղ եւ նենգաւոր, the bloody and deceitful man.

CONCORDANCE OF PRONOUNS.

The personal pronouns bu, I, qn, thou, fup, he or himself, are substantives, and as substantives agree with adjectives, as, 11 wu l] Stp 4kqSwLnpwg, of you hypocrites.

|Ինքն signifies sometimes self, as, լիս ինքն dwpq bil. I myself also am a man.

The definitive pronouns uw, q, uw, he (she, it) are substantives, and so agree with adjectives, as, np fupr. these last. իւ կամ՝ ինքեանք սոքա ասասցեն . or else let these same here say.

The definitive pronouns unju, qnju, unju, this, that, same, are adjectives, and so agree with substantives, as, 'ի սոն or 'ի սմին ա LAL. on this day, or in the course of this day, or to day.
