We, the undersigned, directors of the Exchange Bank of Virginia, having examined the preceding statements, certify that they exhibit the true condition of the bank on the 30th June 1849; and that the resolution of the stockholders at their meeting of the 5th May 1841, in relation to the accuracy of the accounts of individuals with the bank, has been complied with as follows: The branches of Clarkesville and Alexandria, report a perfect agreement between their private and general legers; the branch at Richmond has a variation of 10 cents, the branch at Petersburg has a variation of 15 cents, and the parent bank, after reducing the variation reported in the statement of 31st March last, from $1 08 to 8 cents, now reports the same, which proves the quarter ending 30th June 1849, or present state, free from any other error. GEORGE MCINTOSH, City of Norfolk, to wit: This day, personally appeared before me, an alderman of the said city, W. Southgate, cashier of the Exchange Bank of Virginia, who made oath that the foregoing statements are a faithful exhibit of the condition of the bank on the 30th day of June 1849. Given under my hand this 1st day of August 1849. N. W. PARKER, J. P. |
