Christians: Sending the Wrong Message to the World

William Derrick Moore is a graduate of Master’s Graduate School of Divinity, Evansville Indiana. He earned a Doctorate in Practical Theology with an emphasis in Interdisciplinary Studies. This degree program allowed him to study the practices and doctrines of many different religions and denominations within Christianity. Dr. Moore also possesses a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Boston University and a Bachelors Degree in Economics from Rutgers University. Dr. Moore’s life is an example of God’s grace. Like the Apostle Paul, Dr. Moore led a life of a chief sinner. Living most of his adult life outside of the grace of God, he can attest to the impact of willful sin on the Christian testimony. God had a purpose for Derrick Moore’s life. This became apparent when he had several supernatural encounters with God. Some of these encounters were spiritual and some were physical. During these encounters, God revealed many truths to him. At this time Dr. Moore was not fully dedicated to the Lord but the Lord continued to have more and more encounters with him. The Lord brought a revelation to Moore that he was disobedient to him and was willfully sinning against him with his choices in life. The Lord revealed what Moore’s testimony to the world looked like. It was not pretty. He was a Christian whose testimony in life mirrored that of the unsaved. Finally, the Lord convicted him of his need to deal with the willful sin in his life. From that encounter with God, Moore has made it his priority to warn other Christians about their Christian testimonies and how it impacts the world. Moore spent over seventeen years observing religious practices in Europe. After studying the religious practices of many European countries, Dr. Moore decided to observe Christians in the United States to see if there were similarities in the lifestyles and worship habits. Dr. Moore completed his observations of the two cultures and concluded that there were serious trends that have developed in each. The research revealed that both cultures have abandoned the need to ensure that Christian testimonies (lifestyles) are consistent with a personal relationship with God. The European observations painted a bleak picture for the younger generation. There is a general lack of concern about a personal relationship with God and what will happen to them after death. Church attendance is limited to weddings, funerals baptisms, and confirmations. A relationship with God is more ceremonial rather than personal. There is a lack of real Christians to fellowship with. They are willing to take their chances with the world instead of God because of the Christian testimonies that they have witnessed. The older generations on the other hand, have more at stake. Since they are closer to death and eternity, they take a more serious position with their relationship with Christ. Wisdom truly follows age. Many European churches are without clergy because the majority of the churches are catholic. There is a high demand for priests but the supply is low because of lifestyle requirements for priests. Observations in the United States revealed some interesting facts. Churches and worship services are growing at an incredible pace. Mega churches are everywhere. It has become big business. The emphasis is on being User Friendly and entertainment. Sundays are truly set aside for church services and worship. The problem is the rest of the week. Many Christians in the United States claim to be followers of Christ on Sundays but are involved in sinful activities during the rest of the week. These studies that were done by Dr. Moore yield a lot of insight into how Christian testimonies are viewed by other Christians and the rest of the world.
