This List, issued quarterly, includes those international conferences and meetings which are expected to be held during the period ending December 31, 1952 and with which there is a probability that the United States Government or citizens of the United States may be concerned. It should be clearly understood, however, that the inclusion of a conference in this List is not intended to indicate either that the United States Government will participate officially or that the Government has in any way sanctioned the conference.

Every effort has been made to give exact dates in this List. As it is not uncommon during the course of the preparations for particular conferences for the convening dates to be changed, revised dates will be incorporated, where possible, in future issues of this List. Readers who desire the latest possible information concerning a particular conference may find it desirable, however, to consult the Division of International Conferences, Department of State, or the appropriate convening authority.

The Alphabetical List of Conferences (page 14) has been annotated to give the reader a brief description of the background, membership or participation, and the agenda of each forthcoming conference concerning which information is readily available to the Department of State.

The Division of International Conferences will welcome suggestions or information which might serve to make future issues of this List more nearly complete and hence more useful, or which might supplement the records which the Division maintains for reference purposes.
