[6th August, 1872.] WHEREAS a treaty between Her Majesty and the United States of America was signed at Washington on the eighth day of May, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-one, and was duly ratified on the seventeenth day of June of that year, which, amongst other things, contained the articles set out in the Schedule to this Act: And whereas an Act intituled "An Act relating to the Treaty of Washington, 1871," has been passed by the Parliament of Canada for the purpose of carrying into operation the said articles; And whereas an Act intituled An Act relating to the Treaty of Washington, 1871," has been passed by the Legislature of Prince Edward's Island, for the purpose of carrying into operation the said artirles ; And whereas the Congress of the United States of America have not as yet passed any Act for carrying into operation on the part of the United States the said articles; And whereas it is expedient to make provi on by Act of Parliament for carrying into operation the said articles Be it enacted by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows: |
