An Act ceding to the United States of America jurisdiction over a lot of land situate in the city of Paterson, and exempting the same and its appurtenances from taxation. WHEREAS, the United States of America have recently appropriated money for the erection of a building in the city of Paterson for the accommodation of the post office and other governmental offices of the United States; therefore, United States. 1. BE IT ENACTED by the Senate and General Assembly of Lands ceded to the State of New Jersey, That jurisdiction of the land and its appurtenances which have been purchased in said city of Paterson for the erection of the aforesaid building, be and the same is hereby ceded to the United States of America; provided, that all civil and criminal process, Proviso. issued under the authority of this state, or any officer thereof, may be executed on said land in the same way and manner as if jurisdiction had not been ceded as aforesaid. empt from taxa 2. An Act in relation to warrants drawn to meet disbursements and expenditures made by boards in cities of the first class in this state in certain cases, and giving the common council or other governing body power in relation thereto. 1. BE IT ENACTED by the Senate and General Assembly of ner of drawing the State of New Jersey, That it shall be lawful for the treasury of cities common council or other governing body in any city by ordinance. of the first class of this state to provide by ordinance for the form and manner in which warrants upon the treasury of the said city for the purpose of meeting and discharging obligations incurred by the expenditure and disbursements of other boards therein shall be drawn, signed and paid, and all warrants made and signed for such expenditures and disbursements in accordance with an ordinance duly passed for that purpose in any such city shall be deemed and taken to be in all respects regular and lawful. 2. And be it enacted, That all acts and parts of acts inconsistent with this act be and the same are hereby repealed, and that this act shall take effect immediately. Approved January 31, 1893. CHAPTER III. A Supplement to the act entitled "An act to facilitate proceedings in the prerogative court," approved February eleventh, one thousand eight hundred and eightyeight. 1. BE IT ENACTED by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey, That the fifth section of an act entitled "An act to facilitate proceedings in the prerogative court,' approved February éleventh, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-eight, which fifth section reads as follows: "5. And be it enacted, That the vice-ordinary. or vice- Section repealed. surrogate general shall receive as compensation for the performance of the duties which shall be imposed upon him under this act, an annual salary of fifteen hundred dollars, in addition to his compensation as vice-chancellor, to be paid to him by the treasurer of the state in equal monthly or quarter-yearly payments, as he shall from time to time elect," be and the same is hereby repealed. 2.
