AN ACT

o annul the marriage contract between A. M. Adams and Virginia Adamıs. SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Represen atives of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in General Assemly met, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That he marriage contract entered into between A. M. Adams and Virginia Adams, his wife, be and the same is hereby annulled nd made void, and the parties released and discharged from aid contract and from all duties and obligations arising there. rom, as if they had never been joined in marriage.

AN ACT

Lelative to the collection of the School Tax in Young township, Jefferson county, for the year one thousand eight hundred and fifty.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Represenatives of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in General Assemly met, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That rom and after the passage of this act it shall be lawful for the school treasurer of Young township school district, in the county of Jefferson, to collect the school tax for the year one thousand eight hundred and fifty, as made out in the duplicate for said year: Provided however, That before proceeding to the collection of the same, the said school treasurer shall give notice at least one month, by written or printed hand-bills stuck up through the township, notifying the taxable inhabitants to meet the school treasurer on a day certain to pay off the amount of taxes against them, and in default of their appearing it shall be lawful for the said school treasurer to proceed to collect the same before a justice of the peace as debts of like amount are collected. A SUPPLEMENT

To the act, entitled "An Act for the Charter of a Savings and Deposit?
Bank, to be located in Warren, Warren county, and to be called T
Warren County Bank," approved May fifth, one thousand eight hundred
and fifty-two.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Represen tatives of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in General Assem bly met, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That the Warren County Bank shall be entitled to all the privileges. and subject to all the conditions, restrictions and regulations of the act, entitled "An act regulating banks," approved the sixteenth of April, one thousand eight hundred and fifty, and the several supplements thereto, except so far as is herein otherwise provided.

SECTION 2. That the trustees of said bank shall perform the duties prescribed to be performed by commissioners, so far & it may be necessary to carry this act into effect, and the balance of stock not already subscribed, shall be distributed according to the provisions of the seventh and eighth sections of the said

act.

SECTION 3. That the trustees of said bank shall continue to Trustees to act as serve as directors, and the treasurer as cashier of the same, until the next annual election after the passage of this act, and the trustees shall also choose one of their number president thereof, who shall serve for the like period.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Represen tatives of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in General Assem bly met, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That the fourth section of the act of twenty-first day of April, one Franklin county, thousand eight hundred forty-six, entitled "A supplement to

AN ACT

upplementary to the act, entitled "An Act to incorporate the Limerick and Colebrookdale Turnpike Company," approved March fifteenth, one thousand eight hundred and forty-seven, with the supplements thereto.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Represenitives of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in General Assembly

ret, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That Certain township or the purpose of enabling the Limerick and Colebrookdale may take stock. urnpike company to construct their road without delay, the everal townships through which the said turnpike road is to ass, may, through their respective supervisors, subscribe to the tock of the said company the following sums respectively, to wit: the township of Limerick, the sum of fifteen hundred dolars; the township of New Hanover, twenty-five hundred dolars; the township of Douglass, twelve hundred dollars; and the township of Colebrookdale, the sum of eight hundred dol. lars; and the said townships shall have power respectively to borrow, at an interest of not over six per centum per annum, the money to pay therefor, which, if so borrowed, or any part thereof, shall be appropriated towards paying for the said stock subscribed and for no other purpose.

How assent of townships ascertained.

SECTION 2. That the assent of the said townships, or any of them, shall be had and ascertained by an election held at some suitable place along the line of said road in each township re spectively, of which time and place of holding such election or elections the managers of said turnpike road shall give at least ten days' public notice, by at least ten printed hand-bills, put up in the most public places in said townships respectively; the said elections to be held and conducted by the supervisors the respective districts through which said road passes, who shall call to his aid two qualified citizens, residents of said dis trict, to act as judges of said elections; the said judges, after counting the votes polled, shall certify the same under oath or affirmation to the court of quarter sessions of the counties of Montgomery or Berks, wherein such road lies, and if a majority of all the votes present shall decide in favor of such subscripion, the said townships or either of them so deciding shall be taken and held liable for said subscriptions to said company; and the supervisors of said townships are thereupon hereby authorized and required to subscribe for the same agreeably to the first section of this act.

AN ACT

Relative to a Tax on Dogs in Schuylkill township, Chester county.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Represen tatives of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in General Assembly met, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That the provisions of the first, second, third and fourth sections of the act of assembly, entitled "An Act levying a tax on dogs, in the county of Chester," et cetera, approved the eleventh day of March, one thousand eight hundred and fifty, be and the same is hereby extended to the township of Schuylkill, in Chester county.

AN ACT

Relative to the Exonerations of Military Taxes.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in General Assembly met, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That the third section of the supplement to an act, entitled "An Act to revise the militia system," et cetera, approved April the thirteenth, one thousand eight hundred and fifty-three, is hereby suspended for one year, from the first Monday in December, one thousand eight hundred and fifty-three, and that the commissioners of the several counties are hereby authorized and empowered to exonerate collectors of the several townships therein, for uncollected military taxes, until the first Monday in December, one thousand eight hundred and fifty-four, the same as though the third section had not been passed, and that the exonerations heretofore made are hereby legalized.

A FURTHER SUPPLEMENT

To the act, entitled "An Act to incorporate the Ohio and Pennsylvania Railroad Company," approved April eleventh, Anno Domini one thousand eight hundred and forty-nine.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in General Assembly met, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That the Ohio and Pennsylvania railroad company is hereby authorized to connect its railroad with the Pennsylvania canal and the Connections. Pennsylvania railroad, in the city of Pittsburg, by erecting its proposed bridge across the Allegheny river, alongside of the canal aqueduct now erected there: Provided, That the said railroad bridge shall be so erected as not in any way to interfere with the free use of the said aqueduct and not to diminish the
