Chap. 532.

AN ACT to release the interest of the People of the State in certain lands to Caroline Graf, and to authorize her to hold and convey the same.

PASSED May 2, 1870, by a two-third vote.

The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assembly, do enact as follows:

SECTION 1. All the right, title and interest of the People N. Y. city, of this State, in and to certain lands situated in Manhattan street in the Twelfth ward of the city of New York, which were conveyed to George Graf, late of said city of New York, deceased, by Thomas N. Lawrence of said city, by deed dated the ninth day of January, in the year one thousand eight hundred and sixty-eight, and recorded in the office of the register of the city and county of New York, in liber one thousand and thirty of conveyances, page five hundred and eighty-three, on the same day, are hereby released to and vested in Caroline Graf, who is the widow of the said deceased, her heirs and assigns forever, subject to any incumbrances that may be upon said lands at the date of this act; and the said Caroline Graf is hereby authorized and empowered to take, hold and convey the same in the same manner, and with the like effect, as the People of this State could do.

§2. This act shall in no wise affect the claims of any creditors, or of any person claiming as heir, devisee or representative of said George Graf, deceased,

AN ACT authorizing the officers of "Forest Hill Cemetery" to take charge of the public burying grounds in the village of Fredonia, Chautauqua county, and to provide for the payment of the expenses of the same.

AN ACT to release the interest and title of the People of the State of New York in and to certain real estate, to Samuel Raby.

PASSED May 2, 1870, by a two-third vote. The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assembly, do enact as follows:

SECTION 1. All the estate, claim, right, title and interest of the People of this State in and to all that certain piece or parcel of land situate in the town of Amity, county of Allegany, and State of New York, being parts of lots thirty-six, thirty-seven, and forty-five in said town, beginning at the maple tree standing on the east bank of the Genesee river; thence east thirty-seven chains and fifty links to an elm post; thence south, forty-five degrees thirty minutes east, twelve chains and twenty-five links to a white oak tree; thence south, sixty-eight degrees west, six chains; thence north, forty-three and one-fourth degrees west, one chain and twenty-five links; thence south, eighty-two and one-fourth degrees east, thirtyfour chains and fifty links to the east bank of the Genesee river; thence down said river the various courses thereof to the place of beginning, containing fifty-one acres and forty-six one-hundredths of an acre of land, be the same more or less, and being the same premises conveyed by William H. Van Campen to Samuel Raby, an alien, then residing at Scio, Allegany county, New York, by deed bearing date the twenty-sixth day of September, eighteen hundred and sixty, and recorded in the Allegany county clerk's office, in liber fifty-seven of deeds, at page two hundred and sixty-five, on the tenth day of October, eighteen hundred and sixty, but now residing at Torquay, Devonshire, England, together with all that certain other piece or parcel of land situate in township three, range second, Morris reserve, in the county of Allegany, State of New York, being part of lot number thirty-nine, beginning at a point in the west line of said lot thirty-nine, twenty-six chains nineteen links, northerly from the southwest corner thereof (which point is in the center of the "Cooley road" so called); thence northerly, along the west line of said lot, thirty-nine chains four links, to the south

west corner of the Holmes Mill lot: thence bounding on said mill lot, north, seventy-eight and one-half degrees east, eight chains; north, forty-eight degrees east, thirteen chains eighty-three links, north, thirty-two and one-half degrees east, five links, to a point in center of "Plum bottom" road; thence along center of said road north, fifty-one degrees east, three chains ninety-two links, north, twenty-three degrees west, two chains forty-eight links, north, fifty-two degrees east, eighteen chains fiftyeight links; thence south, three degrees west, thirty-four chains ten links, to center of said "Cooley road," north, eighty degrees west, thirteen chains seventy links, north, eighty-one degrees west, six chains and twenty-six links, north, seventy-six degrees west, five chains, north, sixty degrees west, three chains fifty links, north, forty-two degrees west, two chains, to place of beginning, containing fifty-two acres and fifty one-hundredths of an acre of land, be the same more or less, heretofore conveyed to said Raby, is hereby released to the said Samuel Raby, alien as aforesaid, and the said Samuel Raby is hereby authorized to take, hold, lease, mortgage, sell, devise and convey same, in the same manner and as fully as a citizen of the United States may or can do, provided the said Sam- Condition uel Raby shall, within five years from the passage of this release is act, declare his intention to become a citizen of the United States, or shall within the said five years convey the lands and premises aforesaid to a citizen of the United States, or to some person who shall have declared his intention to become such citizen.

AN ACT in relation to the dockets of judgments
and other liens and indices in the office of the
county clerk of Kings county.

PASSED May 2, 1870; three-fifths being present.
The People of the State of New York, represented in
Senate and Assembly, do enact as follows:

SECTION 1. Whenever any of the dockets of judgments or other liens, or any other books of record or indices in the office of the county clerk of Kings county, shall become mutilated or injured so that they cannot be conveand indices. niently examined, and the board of supervisors of said county shall authorize them to be copied, such copies shall be made by the county clerk of said county, and, when so made and certified by him to be copies of the Copies to be originals, shall have the validity of, and be deemed for all purposes to be, such originals.

§ 2.
