The Assembly bill (No. 846, Rec. No. 177) entitled "An act to amend chapter seven hundred and forty-four of the Laws of nineteen hundred and four, entitled 'An act to authorize the treasurer of Niagara county to sell property for unpaid taxes,' in relation to the expense of publication of the statement and notice of sale," having been announced for third reading,

Mr. Campbell moved that said bill be recommitted to the committee on internal affairs of towns, counties and public highways with instructions to said committee to amend and report the same forthwith to be reprinted as amended and restored to its place in the order of third reading.

The President put the question whether the Senate would agree to said motion, and it was decided in the affirmative.

The journal of Monday, April 7th, was read and approved. Mr. Giorgio introduced a bill (Int. No. 1622) entitled "An act to locate in part the boundary lines between the counties of Kings and Queens, which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time and referred to the committee on internal affairs of towns, counties and public highways.

Mr. Davenport introduced a bill (Int. No. 1623) entitled "Concurrent Resolution of the Senate and Assembly proposing an amendment to article eight of the Constitution, in relation to limitation of indebtedness of cities and counties," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time and referred to the committee on the judiciary.

Mr. Dunnigan introduced a bill (Int. No. 1624) entitled "An act to amend the Highway Law, in relation to indemnity bonds or insurance policies of owners of motor vehicles operated on any

public street or highway of the State," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time and referred to the committee on internal affairs of towns, counties and public highways.

Mr. Schackno, by request, introduced a bill (Int. No. 1625) entitled "An act to amend the General Business Law, in relation to fraudulent practices in respect of stocks, bonds, and other securities, and requiring certain publication by dealers as defined therein, ," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time and referred to the committee on general laws.

Also, by request, a bill (Int. No. 1626) entitled "An act to amend the General Business Law, in relation to the appointment of a protective committee in instances where injunctions shall issue," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time and referred to the committee on general laws.

Also, a bill (Int. No. 1627) entitled "An act to amend the General Business Law, in relation to the production of books and papers without the State, " which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time and referred to the committee on general laws.

Mr. Fearon introduced a bill (Int. No. 1628) entitled "An act to amend the Stock Corporation Law, in relation to dissolution without judicial proceedings," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time.

On motion of Mr. Fearon, and by unanimous consent, the rules were suspended, and said bill ordered to a third reading and referred to the committee on the judiciary, retaining place on order of third reading.

Mr. Robinson introduced a bill (Int. No. 1629) entitled "An act authorizing the construction of a foot bridge across the interior court of the capitol building at the third floor with movable sidewalks running north and south connecting the Senate and Assembly, and making an appropriation therefor," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time and referred to the committee on finance.

Mr. Russell, from the committee on banks, to which was referred the Senate bill introduced by Mr. O'Brien (No. 1646, Int. No. 1431) entitled "An act to amend the Banking Law, in relation to private bankers," reported in favor of the passage of the same, which report was agreed to, and said bill committed to the committee of the whole.

No. 1612) entitled "An act to amend the Civil Practice Act, in relation to limitation of plaintiff's costs in actions for tort or fine or penalty," reported in favor of the passage of the same, when report was agreed to.

On motion of Mr. Byrne, and by unanimous consent, the rules were suspended, and said bill ordered to a third reading.

Mr. Farrell, from the committee on affairs of cities, to which was referred the Senate bill introduced by Mr. Hastings (No. 1100, Int. No. 1005) entitled "An act to amend the General City Law, in relation to permitting certain cities to increase the salaries of officers and employees during fiscal year," reported in favor of the passage of the same, which report was agreed to.

On motion of Mr. Hastings, and by unanimous consent, the rules were suspended, and said bill ordered to a third reading. Mr. Farrell, from the committee on affairs of cities, to which was referred the Senate bill introduced by Mr. Farrell (No. 1521, Int. No. 1342) entitled "An act to amend the General City Law, in relation to promotions of certain lieutenants of police to the rank of captain," reported in favor of the passage of the same, which report was agreed to.

On motion of Mr. Farrell, and by unanimous consent, the rules were suspended, and said bill ordered to a third reading.

Mr. Farrell, from the committee on affairs of cities, to which was referred the Senate bill introduced by Mr. Lusk (No. 1906, Int. No. 1596) entitled "An act to amend chapter six hundred and ninety-eight of the Laws of nineteen hundred and seven, so as to authorize the city of Cortland to issue bonds for extensions and improvements of its water system," reported in favor of the passage of the same, which report was agreed to, and said bill restored to its place on the order of third reading.

Mr. Farrell, from the committee on affairs of cities, to which was referred the Senate bill introduced by Mr. Lusk (No. 1892, Int. No. 1582) entitled "An act to authorize the city of Cortland to issue bonds for extensions and improvements of its water system,' reported in favor of the passage of the same, which report was agreed to.

No. 1583) entitled "An act to confer jurisdiction upon the Court of Claims to hear and determine an alleged claim of Edwin P. Kilroe against the State for expenses including counsel fees incurred by him in defending himself upon indictment for conspiracy in connection with the conducting of certain prosecution by him while holding the office of assistant district attorney of the county of New York," reported in favor of the passage of the same, which report was agreed to, and said bill committed to the committee of the whole.

No. 1330) entitled "An act to amend the General Municipal Law, in relation to the application of article thirteen relating to playgrounds and neighborhood recreation centers, and providing for the submission of propositions for the establishment or maintenance of recreation systems," reported in favor of the passage of the same, which report was agreed to.

No. 1589) entitled "An act to empower the board of estimate and apportionment of the city of New York to pay or compromise on equitable grounds certain invalid or illegal claims against the board of education of the city and city school district of New York," reported in favor of the passage of the same, which report was agreed to.
