The Senate met pursuant to adjournment.

The journal of January 10th was read and approved.

Mr. Baumes, on recommendation of the Crime Commission, introduced a bill (Int. No. 126) entitled "An act to amend the State Departments Law, in relation to the Department of Correction," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on codes.

Also, a bill (Int. No. 127) entitled "An act to amend the Prison Law, in relation to parole,' ," which was read the first time and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on codes.

Also, a bill (Int. No. 128) entitled "An act to amend the State Departments Law, in relation to the Department of Correction," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on codes.

Also, a bill (Int. No. 129) entitled "An act in relation to probation," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on codes.

Also, a bill (Int. No. 130) entitled "An act to amend the Penal Law, in relation to sentence and probation," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on codes.

Also, a bill (Int. No. 131) entitled "An act to amend the Prison Law, in relation to released convicts," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on codes.

Also, a bill (Int. No. 132) entitled "An act to amend the Penal Law, in relation to convicts," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time and referred to the committee on codes.

Mr. Brown introduced a bill (Int. No. 133) entitled "An act to amend the Conservation Law, in relation to applications for hunting, fishing and trapping licenses," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on conservation.

Mr. Knight introduced a bill (Int. No. 134) entitled "An act to confer jurisdiction upon the Court of Claims to hear, audit and determine the claims of Willard G. Maynard and Paul Allen against the State, for personal injuries and property damage sustained through the alleged negligence of the State, its officers, agents and employees in constructing, causing and permitting a portion of the Batavia-Elba State highway in the town and village of Elba to be and remain in a defective and dangerous condition,

and to render judgment therefor," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on general laws.

Mr. Webb introduced a bill (Int. No. 135) entitled "An act to amend the Education Law, in relation to the practice of osteopathy," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on public education.

Mr. Keck introduced a bill (Int. No. 136) entitled "An act to amend chapter three hundred and nineteen of the Laws of nineteen hundred and three, entitled 'An act to make the office of the sheriff of Herkimer county a salaried office, and to regulate the management of said office,' in relation to the compensation of deputies and undersheriff for attendance at court as court officers, which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on internal affairs of towns, counties and public highways.

Also, a bill (Int. No. 137) entitled "An act to amend the County Law, in relation to compensation of supervisors in Herkimer county," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on internal affairs of towns, counties and public highways. Also, a bill (Int. No. 138) entitled "An act to authorize the board of supervisors of Herkimer county to increase the salary of the county clerk of said county," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on internal affairs of towns, counties and public highways.

Mr. Freiberg introduced a bill (Int. No. 139) entitled "An act to amend the Conservation Law, in relation to the pollution of streams, " which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on conservation.

Also, a bill (Int. No. 140) entitled "An act to amend the Public Health Law, in relation to the pollution of waters," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on public health.

Mr. Quinn introduced a bill (Int. No. 141) entitled "An act to amend the Highway Law, in relation to date when renewal number plates on motor vehicles may be displayed," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on internal affairs of towns, counties and public highways.

Mr. J. F. Williams introduced a bill (Int. No. 142) entitled "An act to amend the Village Law, in relation to municipal boards, which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on affairs of villages.

Also, a bill (Int. No. 143) entitled "An act to amend the Village Law, in relation to the return of tax rolls," which was read the

first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on affairs of villages.

Also, a bill (Int. No. 144) entitled "An act to amend the Village Law, in relation to notice of the adoption of a resolution subject to a permissive referendum," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on affairs of villages.

Mr. Pitcher from the committee on reorganization of State departments, to which was referred the Senate bill introduced by

the Committee on Reorganization of State Departments (No. 19, Int. No. 20) entitled "An act to amend the Agriculture and Markets Law to conform to the State Departments Law, in relation to the use and sale of farm machinery and repealing chapter sixty-four of the Laws of nineteen hundred and nineteen and the acts amendatory thereof, in relation to the State Food Commission," reported in favor of the passage of the same, which report was agreed to, and said bill committed to the committee of the whole.

Mr. Pitcher, from the committee on reorganization of State departments, to which was referred the Senate bill introduced by the Committee on Reorganization of State Departments (No. 36, Int. No. 37) entitled "An act to amend the Co-operative Corporations Law to conform to the State Departments Law, generally," reported in favor of the passage of the same, which report was agreed to, and said bill committed to the committee of the whole.

Mr. Pitcher, from the committee on reorganization of State departments, to which was referred the Senate bill introduced by the Committee on Reorganization of State Departments (No. 30, Int. No. 31) entitled "An act to amend the County Law to conform to the State Departments Law, in relation to the erection. and alteration of buildings for the use of county tuberculosis hospital," reported in favor of the passage of the same, which report was agreed to, and said bill committed to the committee of the whole.

Mr. Pitcher, from the committee on reorganization of State departments, to which was referred the Senate bill introduced by the Committee on Reorganization of State Department (No. 42, Int. No. 43) entitled "An act to amend the County Law to conform to the State Departments Law, in relation to the power of boards of supervisors to require the county clerk to furnish certain information to the boards of assessors of the tax districts of the county," reported in favor of the passage of the same, which report was agreed to, and said bill committed to the committee of the whole.

Mr. Pitcher, from the committee on reorganization of State departments, to which was referred the Senate bill introduced by the Committee on Reorganization of State Departments (No. 20, Int. No. 21) entitled "An act to amend chapter five hundred and sixty-four of the Laws of nineteen hundred and ten, entitled 'An act to provide for county roads in certain counties adjoining cities of the first class,' in relation to construction and maintenance of county roads," reported in favor of the passage of the same, which report was agreed to, and said bill committed to the committee of the whole.

Mr. Pitcher, from the committee on reorganization of State departments, to which was referred the Senate bill introduced by the Committee on Reorganization of State Departments (No. 28, Int. No. 29) entitled "An act to amend the Education Law to conform to the State Departments Law, in relation to the New York State Teachers' Retirement System," reported in favor of the

passage of the same, which report was agreed to, and said bill committed to the committee of the whole.

Mr. Pitcher, from the committee on reorganization of State departments, to which was referred the Senate bill introduced by the Committee on Reorganization of State Departments (No. 34, Int. No. 35) entitled "An act to amend the Judiciary Law to conform to the State Departments Law, in relation to the expense to be borne by the State in certain criminal prosecutions," reported in favor of the passage of the same, which report was agreed to, and said bill committed to the committee of the whole.

Mr. Pitcher, from the committee on reorganization of State departments, to which was referred the Senate bill introduced by the Committee on Reorganization of State Departments (No. 18, Int. No. 19) entitled "An act to amend the Military Law to conform to the State Departments Law, in relation to arsenals, armories or other quarters of the militia," reported in favor of the passage of the same, which report was agreed to, and said bill committed to the committee of the whole.

Mr. Pitcher from the committee on reorganization of State departments, to which was referred the Senate bill introduced by the Committee on Reorganization of State Departments (No. 17, Int. No. 18) entitled "An act to amend the Military Law to conform to the State Departments Law, in relation to assigning rooms to the Bureau of War Records," reported in favor of the passage of the same, which report was agreed to, and said bill committed to the committee of the whole.

Mr. Pitcher from the committee on reorganization of State departments, to which was referred the Senate bill introduced by the Committee on Reorganization of State Departments (No. 44, Int. No. 45) entitled "An act to amend the Penal Law to conform to the State Departments Law, in relation to violations of provisions of Labor Law," reported in favor of the passage of the same, which report was agreed to, and said bill committed to the committee of the whole.

Mr. Pitcher, from the committee on reorganization of State departments, to which was referred the Senate bill introduced by the Committee on Reorganization of State Departments (No. 25, Int. No. 26) entitled "An act to amend the Penal Law to conform to the State Departments Law, in relation to platforms and heating apparatus of passenger cars," reported in favor of the passage of the same, which report was agreed to, and said bill committed to the committee of the whole.

Mr. Pitcher, from the committee on reorganization of State departments, to which was referred the Senate bill introduced by the Committee on Reorganization of State Departments (No. 32, Int. No. 33) entitled "An act to amend the Penal Law to conform to the State Departments Law, in relation to billiard rooms, reported in favor of the passage of the same, which report was agreed to, and said bill committed to the committee of the whole.
