NOTICES OF THE PRESS-continued.

While possessing this advantage of a methodic plan, the lessons are adapted to interest the pupil, and are nicely illustrated.-Scotsman.

Among so many competitors it is no mean honour to have secured a foremost place, and that distinction can be unhesitatingly accorded to Dr. Geikie. In his Spelling and Reading Books he has done much to smooth the path of pupils of tender years. There can be no doubt he has struck the proper key-note, which is admirably carried out through the whole range of primary endeavour. We are not surprised that it has won the approval of the School Board of London, and it only requires to be known to be equally appreciated by the sister institutions of the Kingdom. Altogether, this valuable series challenges admiration.-Chelsea News.
