RECOMMENDATION.

It being of the first importance in the administration of justice, that the Officers of the Army should be acquainted with the principles and rules governing Military Courts, and that they should also have a competent knowledge of the laws and usages of the service; the War Department, in order to promote so desirable an end, recommends to the Military Service, "The Practice of Courts Martial, by Alexander Macomb, Major-general of the Army of the United States."
