of both these banks until 1912 when he and his friends sold their interests in the National bank and he remained from then on as president and general manager of the State bank until its conversion into the American National Bank of Bellingham in 1922, since which time and until the present date he is still holding that position.

Mr. Adair has never been a politician, and is independent in politics. He is a member of Kulshan Club, Bellingham Golf and Country Clubs, a Scottish Rite Mason and a Shriner, and a Presbyterian.

The Marshal of Florida, and His Descendants

(9) Alexander Adair, son of William Adair, Revolutionary soldier and Nephew of the Governor: Was appointed Marshal of Florida, Being a Territory at that time, Florida was largely ruled by the U. S. Marshal. Everything was moving along orderly when Marshal Adair was suddenly attacked with YellowFever and died, leaving a family of little children. The GodMother of these children put them in covered wagons and carried them overland back to Kentucky, where they were raised and most of them continued to live in Green County, Kentucky. 9 Alexander Adair Elizabeth W.
