The question then being on the following amendment of the Senate numbered 21, viz: On page 11, line 16, strike out the word " thirty" and insert in lieu thereof the word twenty, Mr. Long moved that the House concur in the said amendment; Mr. Samuel S. Cox moved to concur in the said amendment with an amendment striking out the word "twenty" and inserting in lieu thereof the word twenty-five. After debate thereon, Mr. Randall moved to close debate on the said motions submitted by Mr. Long and Mr. Samuel S. Cox; which motion was agreed to. Mr. Randall moved to reconsider the vote last taken, and also moved that the motion to reconsider be laid on the table; which latter motion was agreed to. And the question being put on the said motion submitted by Mr. Samuel S. Cox, The same was disagreed to. The Senate request the return of the bill of the House (H. R. 5800) for the relief of Sarah B. Jackson, together with an amendment of the Senate thereto. The Speaker, as a privileged question, laid the said request before the House. Ordered, That the Clerk return the said bill to the Senate, in accord ance with its said request.
