All that is good in human nature we are taught by our friends; everything the world esteems comes to us through

our friends; whatever is worthy in man or woman is due to our friends.

As it is our friends who have taught us what we know of a Heaven hereafter, so it is they who hold in their hands all that makes this earth a Heaven, since love alone unites Heaven and earth.

And, though love without friendship is a futile creature, its wings spread for fight, there can be no friendship without love.
