November 13-14, 1961: Flash flood caused much damage to lowland areas, several roads and many bridges were washed out.

ARKANSAS

May 7, 1961: Five inches of rain fell with in a two hour period causing flash floods in Boone county. Several downtown buildings collapsed and the contents of several buildings on the square were swept out by the flood waters. Thirty homes were washed away, one high school and more than 100 automobiles were either damaged or destroyed.

Lower Arkansas Valley from Pueblo to Kansas border; Denver area eastward June 1, 1961: Heavy rains caused flooding and considerable property damage to crops, houses and businesses.

September 21, 1961: This flood caused trees to fall, many cellars to flood. Many roads and underpasses were washed away.

January 1, 1961: Widespread local flooding of cellars and underpasses as icedover catch basins failed to provide proper drainage.
