April 26. As car No. 51 was going down, corner James street and New Bowery, ran over a boy named Dennis Cahill, about 6 years of age. Neither conductor or driver saw him until the car had passed over him. George McGrath, a witness, said the boy was running alongside of the car. He was fatally injured, and carried to the Oak street police station, and afterward died. The driver was arrested, but released, as the coroner's jury exonerated him from all blame.
