For additional guidance, you should contact the security manager/supervisor or legal counsel within your organization for assistance. This pamphlet may be supplemented by security managers or supervisors with additional guidance that addresses problems or circumstances unique to the local organization. Maynard C. Anderson Director Security Plans and Programs Introduction July 1985 This pamphlet contains a sample indoctrination briefing on the nature and protection of classified information, including general procedures to be followed in ascertaining whether other persons to whom the possessor of classified information contemplates disclosing this information have been approved for access to it. This pamphlet also contains: • The legislative and executive authorities cited in paragraph 10 of the SF-189, and • Questions and answers on the implementation of this nondisclosure agreement. It is intended that this pamphlet be kept available in the offices of those officials, e.g., command security managers and contractor security supervisors, who have been designated to witness and accept the SF-189. Further, all persons who execute the SF-189 may, upon request, receive a personal copy.
