§ 6. For the purpose of securing the more convenient construction and operation of said railroad, the proprietors of the line of stages known as the Tenth street, Broadway and Eighth street line of stages, are hereby authorized and empowered to change the route of said line so as to allow said line to run up Avenue C two blocks to Twelfth street, through Twelfth street to Broadway, through Broadway to connect with the old line at Eighth street.
