The Assembly returned the following entitled bills, with a message that they had concurred in the passage of the same, without amendment, to wit:

"An act to provide for the sale of the poor-house property belonging to the city of Syracuse."

"An act to amend the several acts in relation to Union village, in the county of Washington, and to change the name of said village to Green wich."

"An act to amend an act entitled 'An act to consolidate road districts 18 and 19, in the town of Ledyard, in the county of Cayuga, and to provide for the election of path master in said district,' passed March 14th, 1853."

"An act to provide for the existing deficiency in moneys applicable to the support of common schools in the city of Brooklyn."

"An act to authorize the extension of Central road or avenue, in the county of Westchester, from its terminus at or near Wood Lawn Cemetery, in the town of Yonkers, to a point at or near the village of White Plains."

"An act to authorize the towns of Morrisania and West Farms to widen, extend and improve a highway in said towns, to be called the Southern Boulevard."

Ordered, That the Clerk deliver said bills to the Governor.

The Senate then resolved itself into a committee of the whole, and proceeded to the consideration of general orders, being the bills entitled as follows:

Assembly, "An act making an appropriation to pay the expenses of the collection of tolls, superintendence, ordinary repairs and maintenance of the canals, for the fiscal year commencing on the first day of October, 1867."

"An act to incorporate the Pneumatic Dispatch Company for the cities of New York and Brooklyn."

Assembly, "An act to amend the act entitled 'An act to authorize certain towns in the counties of Oneida, Herkimer, Madison, Otsego and Chenango, to issue bonds and take stock in the Utica, Chenango and Susquehanna Valley Railroad,' passed April 4, 1866."

After some time spent therein, the President resumed the chair, and Mr. T. Murphy, from said committee, reported in favor of the passage of the first named bill, with an amendment, which report was agreed to and said bill ordered to a third reading.

Mr. T. Murphy, from the same committee, reported in favor of the passage of the second named bill, without amendment, which report was agreed to and said bill ordered engrossed for a third reading.

Mr. T. Murphy, from the same committee, reported in favor of the passage of the last named bill, without amendment, which report was agreed to and said bill ordered to a third reading.

Mr. Folger, from the committee on the judiciary, to which was referred the Assembly bill entitled "An act to authorize the holding of a special town meeting in the town of Columbia, county of Herkimer, and to carry into effect the proceedings thereof," with power to report complete, reported the same complete, which report was agreed to and said bill ordered to a third reading.

Mr. Folger, from the committee on insurance, to which was referred the Assembly bill entitled "An act to authorize the Travelers Insurance Company to effect insurance upon the lives of individuals," with power to report complete, reported the same complete, which report was agreed to and said bill ordered to a third reading.

Mr. Folger, from the committee on the judiciary, to which was referred the Assembly bill entitled "An act to enable the Newark and Rosendale Lime and Cement Company, to take by purchase and hold and convey lands and real estate within this State," with power to report complete, reported the same complete, which report was agreed to and said bill ordered to a third reading.

Mr. Gibson, from the committee on claims, to which was referred the Assembly bill entitled "An act for the relief of Junius H. Hatch, conferring jurisdiction on the Canal Appraisers to hear and determine his claim for compensation, for lands appropriated to the enlargement of the Erie canal," reported in writing and in favor of the passage of the same, and said bill was committed to the committee of the whole.

By unanimous consent, Mr. Godard asked and obtained leave to introduce a bill entitled "An act to authorize the electors of the town of Canton, to hold a special town meeting to dispose of the present site of their town house and procure a new site for the same," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on internal affairs of towns and counties. By unanimous consent, Mr. Wolcott asked and obtained leave to introduce a bill entitled "An act to release the interest of the State of New York, in certain lands to Truman Hadley," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on the judiciary.

Cornell, from the committee on banks, to which was referred the Assembly bill entitled "An act to amend an act entitled 'An act to incorporate the New Rochelle Savings Bank,' passed April 24, 1865," with power to report complete, reported the same complete, which report was agreed to and said bill ordered to a third reading.

Mr. Barnett, from the committee on charitable and religious societies, to which was referred the Assembly bill entitled "An act to authorize the formation of corporations to secure parsonages and other property for the use of presiding elders of the Methodist Episcopal Church," with power to report complete, reported the same complete, which report was agreed to and said bill ordered to a third reading.

On motion of Mr. Humphrey and by unanimous consent, the rules were suspended, and the Assembly bill entitled "An act to amend an act entitled 'An act to amend the charter of the village of Perry," was recommitted to the committee on municipal affairs, with power to report complete.

Mr. Godard, from the committee on militia and public defence, to which was referred the Assembly bill entitled "An act for the relief of J. W. Corning," reported in favor of the passage of the same, and said bill was committed to the committee of the whole.

Mr. Sutherland, from the committee on railroads, to which was referred the bill entitled "An act to authorize the consolidation of certain railroad corporations in the city of New York," reported in favor of the passage of the same, and said bill was committed to the committee of the whole.

On motion of Mr. Williams and by unanimous consent, the rules were suspended, and the Assembly bill entitled "An act to amend an act entitled 'An act to incorporate the Cayuga and Seneca Road and Bridge Company,' passed April 18, 1843," was recommitted to the committee on roads and bridges, with power to report complete.

Mr. T. Murphy, from the committee on public health and medical societies and colleges, to which was referred the Assembly bill entitled "An act to amend an act to incorporate the New York College of Dentistry' passed March 31, 1865," with power to report complete, reported the same complete, which report was agreed to and said bill ordered to a third reading.

On motion of Mr. Collins and by unanimous consent, the rules were suspended and the Assembly bill entitled "An act to regulate and increase the salaries of certain members of the Capitol police force, and to provide for the payment thereof," was recommitted to the committee on municipal affairs, with power to report complete.

On motion of Mr. Platt and by unanimous consent the rules were suspended and the Assembly bill entitled "An act to prevent injury and loss of life to persons on railroad cars," was recommitted to the committee on railroads, with power to report complete.
