Mr. Coggeshall, from the committee on miscellaneous corporations, to which was referred the Assembly bill entitled "An act to amend section 1 of chapter 40 of the Laws of 1848, entitled 'An act to authorize the formation of corporations for manufacturing, mining, mechanical, chemical, agricultural, horticultural, medical or curative, mercantile or commercial purposes,' as subsequently modified and amended," reported in favor of the passage of the same, with amendments, and the title amended so as to read as follows: "An act to amend section 1 of chapter 40 of the Laws of 1848, entitled 'An act to authorize the formation of corporations for manufacturing, mining, mechanical or chemical purposes,"" which report was agreed to, and,

Mr. Coggeshall introduced a bill entitled "An act in relation to supplying the State Lunatic Asylum at Utica with water," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on finance.

Mr. Daly introduced a bill entitled "An act to amend the Code of Civil Procedure," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on the judiciary.

On motion of Mr. Gilbert, the Senate took a recess until 8 o'clock this evening.

"An act to amend chapter 329 of the Laws of 1883, entitled 'An act to provide for organizing in the Supreme Court five General Terms. thereof and for the election of justices of that court in addition to the justices now in office,'" reported in favor of the passage of the same, which report was agreed to, and,

On motion of Mr. Ellsworth, and by unanimous consent, the rules were suspended, and said bill ordered to a third reading.

Mr. Ellsworth, from the committee on the judiciary, to which was referred the Assembly bill entitled "An act to amend chapter 410 of the Laws of 1882, entitled 'An act to consolidate into one act and to declare the special and local laws affecting public interests in the city of New York,' passed July 1, 1882," reported in favor of the passage of the same, which report was agreed to, and,

On motion of Mr. Esty, and by unanimous consent, the committee of the whole was discharged from the further consideration of Senate bill, No. 372, entitled "An act to amend chapter 409 of the Laws of 1882, entitled 'An act to revise the statutes of the State relating to banks, banking and trust companies," and the same ordered to a third reading.

The bill entitled "An act to amend an act entitled 'An act relating to, and to reduce the expenses of, the city government of Long Island City,' passed March 21, 1879," was read the third time.
