Mr. O'Donnell offered the following resolution:

Resolved, That the Senate hold a session this evening at 7 o'clock. The President put the question whether the Senate would agree to said resolution, and it was decided in the affirmative.

Mr. Low offered the following resolution:

Resolved, That on and after the 15th instant, the Senate will meet at half-past 9 o'clock a. M.

Mr. Williams moved to amend by striking out "15th instant," and inserting "to-day."

The President put the question whether the Senate would agree to said motion to amend, and it was decided in the affirmative.

The President then put the question whether the Senate would agree to said resolution as amended, and it was decided in the affirmative. The Senate then resolved itself into a committee of the whole, and proceeded to the consideration of the special order, being the Assembly bill entitled as follows:

"An act in relation to quarantine in the port of New York, and to amend existing acts relative thereto."

After some time spent therein, the President resumed the chair, and Mr. Wolcott, from said committee, reported progress on said bill, and asked and obtained leave to sit again.

Mr. Andrews moved that said bill be made the special order to-morrow, after the third reading of bills.

The President put the question whether the Senate would agree to said motion, and it was decided in the affirmative, two-thirds of all the Senators present voting in favor thereof.

Mr. Gibson, from the committee on the judiciary, to which was referred the bill entitled "An act to confirm the title of the town of Danby to the Baptist Church property in said town," reported in favor of the passage of the same, with amendments.

On motion of Mr. Barnett and by unanimous consent, the rule was sus pended, and said bill recommitted to the committee with power to report complete.

Mr. Folger, from the committee on the judiciary, to which was referred the Assembly bill entitled "An act to amend an act entitled 'An act to amend an act entitled 'An act to organize the State Lunatic Asylum, and more effectually to provide for the care, maintenance and recovery of the insane,' passed April 7, 1842; passed April 16, 1860, chapter 450,"" reported in favor of the passage of the same.

On motion of Mr. Lent and by unanimous consent, the rules were suspended, and said bill recommitted to the committee with power to report complete.

Mr. Folger, from the committee on the judiciary, to which was referred the bill entitled "An act relating to evidence in criminal cases," reported that a majority of said committee have directed their chairman to report adversely thereto.

Mr. White moved that the question of agreeing to the report of the committee be laid upon the table.

The President put the question whether the Senate would agree to said motion to lay on the table, and it was decided in the affirmative.

Mr. Folger, from the committee on insurance, to which was referred the bill entitled "An act to amend the amended charter of the Hope Fire Insurance Company in the city of New York," with power to report complete, reported the same complete, which report was agreed to and said bill ordered engrossed for a third reading.

Mr. Folger, from the committee on the judiciary, to which was referred the bill entitled "An act relating to the transmission to the office of the Secretary of State by clerks of courts and sheriffs, of records of conviction, and certain other statistical information as now required by law," with power to report complete, reported the same complete, which report was agreed to and said bill ordered engrossed for a third reading.

Mr. Andrews moved that the bill entitled "An act to enable the supervisors of the county of New York to raise money by tax for county purposes," be made the special order to-morrow at 4 o'clock P. M., and that the Senate hold a session at that time.

The President put the question whether the Senate would agree to said motion, and it was decided in the affirmative, two-thirds of all the Senators present voting in favor thereof.
