WISE men in the very old times have busied themselves much with the question, "How can we be most happy in this life ?" They seemed to have felt that the human race had gone astray; that it had fallen from a position of joy and happiness; and although they did not know, as we do, who have the Bible to teach us, the true story of the Fall, yet they looked back fondly to a time when pain, suffering, and sorrow were unknown upon the earth, and men were really and truly happy.
